Fuori di Zucca Social Farm
You’d have to be “fuori di zucca” (off your rocker) to set up a farm in a lunatic asylum, but then again you’d have to be off your rocker not to realize how great a need there is for these people to get back to “Mother Earth.” So could there have been a better place than an ex psychiatric hospital to exorcize the madness that devours our ecosystem and biodiversity? We’ll get a taste of the farm’s recipes, made with produce grown on lands confiscated from the Mafia.
Coop. La Paranza
We’ll visit the San Gennaro Catacombs, a site of historical interest for tourists managed by the “La Paranza” Social Cooperative working effectively to protect our cultural heritage. The cooperative helps young farmers start new businesses in the Rione Sanità in Neapolitan area in the belief that many dilapidated city districts have sufficient resources for self-development.
By promoting Rione Sanità, its history, art, culture, cooking and, last but not least, its religious faith, we can start a process of recovery to relaunch this area characterized by marked urban decay and significant socio-cultural differences.
