Mr. Daniel Andrade is founder & currently presides over the Board of Directors of ‘Fundacion Progreso’, widely considered the groundbreaking vehicle of social enterprise and impact investment in Bolivia. Mr. Andrade is regarded as a pioneering social entrepreneur and impact investor in South America and Bolivia.
In tandem, Mr. Andrade acts as CEO of BILD. BILD is a for-profit social enterprise seedfunded by ‘Fundacion Progreso’, that researches, designs, develops hybrid business models and launches affordable and efficient products & services, specifically thought for low-income populations. To date, and under his leadership, BILD is currently developing and launching socially minded BoP-focused businesses in; access to water, alternative energy, housing, health & bio-conservation. BILD has recently launched a nation wide potable water initiative, partnered with LIFESAVER SYSTEMS technology.
Daniel has been a TEDx speaker, discussing his work in social enterprise – as well as an invited speaker in important academic institutions such as; the Center for International Development at Kennedy School of Government in Harvard University, or the Keller Center in Princeton University. Daniel became one of the youngest professors in the prestigious postgrad program of Public Management & Policy in Universidad Catolica, where he taught ‘Strategy in the Design of Public Policy’. Most recently Mr. Andrade has been appointed President of ‘ADESBVI – the National Association of Sectors in Water, Basic Services and Housing’ in Bolivia.
Mr. Andrade holds a BA in International Affairs and Political Science from Northeastern University, MA – postgraduate courses in negotiation and diplomacy from Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy in Tufts University & a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Georgia.
Daniel is keenly interested in development, impact investment, social entrepreneurship, and passionate for initiatives driven by impact.
