Giuseppe Guerini is the president of the social cooperative “Ecosviluppo”. The cooperative has the objective of creating job opportunities for disadvantaged persons in the management of environmental services. In past, he has been director of social cooperatives and consortia active in the field of health services, social and educational services, welfare.

Giuseppe Guerini is the vice-president of the national federation of social cooperatives and social enterprises, Federsolidarietà – Confcooperative. The federation was established in 1988.

Federsolidarietà – Confcooperative represents 6,150 social co-operatives and social enterprises, out of which 256 are consortiums of local co-operatives.

The associated cooperatives counts 228,000 members out of whom 22,500 are voluntary members, they employ nearly 222,000. About 17,000 disadvantaged workers are employed by social cooperatives of Federsolidarietà.

At European level, Giuseppe Guerini is member of the European Economic and Social Committee (CESE) in the group III and of the GECES. He is actively involved in the work done by the Committee on the measures related to the “Social Business Initiative – creating a favourable climate for social enterprises, key stakeholders in the social economy and innovation”.
