Cliff Prior is the Chief Executive of UnLtd, the Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs. In its first 11 years, UnLtd has supported over 11,000 people to start new social ventures, with cash, coaching and networking, and the people we support achieve outstanding results. UnLtd backs social entrepreneurs working at community level, and those aiming to scale up their ventures. We have developed specialist programmes including for youth, higher education, digital tech, later life and social housing. UnLtd is building an ecosystem of support for social entrepreneurs with over 100 partners backed up by a shared learning network and data commons. The model has been replicated in 12 other countries, and UnLtd has formed the Global Social Entrepreneurship Network as a shared learning platform now reaching over 40 countries.
Cliff is also a member of Comic Relief’s UK Grants Committee, a trustee of Clore Social Leadership and health innovation agency UCL Partners, and he is a member of Big Society Capital’s Advisory Board. He chaired the mission alignment group for the G8 social impact investment taskforce. He has set up several organisations over the years such as Strutton Housing for people living with HIV in the 1980s through to UnLtdWorld.com more recently.
Cliff previously ran Rethink, which grew to become the UK’s largest charity in mental health. His background includes counselling, social housing, community care and healthcare, and government roles including the Medicines Commission, Healthcare Commission, and Civil Society Advisory Body.
