Roddy joined CEiS in 2009 as a Business Adviser within the Enterprise & Communities Team and in January 2012 took on the role of Programme Manager for the Scottish Government funded Developing Markets for Third Sector Providers programme. The programme’s objective is to increase social value in the public sector procurement process and in particular increase the market share of public services being delivered by Third Sector organisations.
Roddy supports public sector procurement agencies to understand how they can incorporate social value into the commissioning and procurement process, in particular through the use of tools such as community benefit clauses and the Public Social Partnership model. This support involves a combination of awareness raising events for buyers and Third Sector organisations, workshops focusing on procurement processes to increase social value and consultancy support for commissioners and buyers.
